i really, really like amy goodman and democracy now! BUT...
...she never misses a chance to slam obama for not being progressive enough.
and she gives ralph nader way too much airtime.

democracy now! is still the best news show on tv, amy is the true face of journalism on air, and maybe she's trying to raise the bar for obama, to make him a better candidate.

still, i'd rather see a more pragmatic/realistic approach to this election. if people get so turned off obama, they'll stay home or split their vote. then the third bush administration will start in january.

progressive democrats lost our best man for the office - dennis kucinich - and we got centrist obama instead. and unfortunately, along with the nomination, obama got the dlc corporate wing riding along.

okay, fine. let's put obama in the white house FIRST, then progressives and the democratic base can "fix" him later. i'm sure he's gonna want to run for re-election.

so please amy... don't throw the baby out with the bath water.
and please don't give ralph "the spolier" nader any more free air time!

2. and even if we got someone of Kucinich's ilk in the White House, most of the initiatives
would have to get past a Congress that is far from progressive.
I think Obama will be pleasant surprise for those who think he is not progressive enough.
As you said, before anything can be done...we must get a Democrat into the White House.
