Is this John McCains swan song?
John McCain couldn't convince his own base to support this bailout. That is very bad for John McCain. After suspending his run for the presidency to get republicans in congress on board the presidents proposed $700 billion bailout, McCain ended up losing the majority of the support of his fellow republican members of congress. John McCain's speech today looked and sounded like a swan song. You could hear the "Oh shit I'm screwed" in hi voice. It seems like the republican party is crumbling underneath him.

3. If our economy is swirling the drain, we should at least
get some kind of silver lining -- like the death rattle of McCain's presidential campaign.
