VP DEBATE. meaningless now?
I doubt anyone cares now with financial meltdown staring us in our face. Palin cant add anything to the debate at all.

3. Don't know that it had meaning in the first place
except to highlight Palin's ineptness and to allow us Biden lovers to see our guy in the spotlight once again

So they don't freaking vote for her.

The financial crisis will likely create *more* interest in the election, not less.

12. more meaningful imho
...because we need a President and VP who "get it" more now than ever. Seeing her a heartbeat away from the presidency is an even scarier thought today than it was yesterday.

13. She can still take away....
I want REPUBLICANS to see her.. and imagine her bible thumping ass sitting as POTUS. I want them to watch their 401K's, Pensions, etc... fall to horribly low levels, and watch Palin and think - yes, she'll be the one to fix this all better.

And then look at Biden and really think he doesn't know what he's talking about, and he doesn't care about the little guy. Bullshit.

Any republican who sees this, and still votes for McCain Palin because the bible tells them so absolutely deserve what they get. Sadly - a lot of dems would get that same fate. :(

14. I'd be surprised if it happens now. It's completely pointless
McCain/Palin is simply no longer a legitimate choice.

There's no real reason to have any more debates. Let's just vote and get this over with so Obama can face the almost impossible task of repairing our broken country.

19. I'm guessing it's still meaningful. Americans are desperate for the newsmakers to provide meaning
and create predictability, with regard to our common economic future.
72 hours is a lot of time for things to change, and it will be important to both campaigns to use that appearance to try to show leadership.
I mean, I guess that's all more of a hope than a prediction :scared:

20. All she can offer is a diversion for all of us. For a few minutes we
can laugh our fool heads off at her dumb, stupid answers. And to watch Joe Biden keep from laughing will be worth every minute of suffering through her voice. I'm looking forward to it. No matter what happens not until then, it will be the highlight of my week. Every re-thug I know will be hiding his their chair.

21. It just became the most important debate of the past few decades.
You sure seem obsessed with Phalin.

These crises are the things the next administration will have to face. And anyone trying for the number 2 position better damn well be up to snuff.

24. Only if there's 0% chance the VP could become prez
Otherwise, it had better stay on schedule or the McCain campaign needs to be called out on keeping an unqualified candidate from being found out.

The McCain campaign would LOVE for people to forget all about the VP debate. They'd love to have everyone overlook how unqualified Sarah Palin really is. If they can do that, they might be able to keep McCain in the race, such that it is.

But as long as the VP gets to ascend to the Presidency, Americans need to know who that person is and what they're about.

26. Why
are we so quick to write her off? She is being downplayed right now. Lets not get complacent.
We have to remember she survived the debates during her governor run.
She is shrewd.

And then change her mind, or have Tina Fey debate Joe!

28. I think at this point
they should pull Palin and make Tina Fey an offer for the VP position in time for the debate. She's got the look and mannerisms down pat that the nutjobs fell for, and everyone else I think would sooner trust Tina in the position.
