their survival instinct on a very basic level will start kicking in and they will stop covering for Bushco and the Republicans, who are trying to spin this as a partisan, Democratic failure.

As David Shuster just said, this affects taxpayers "like you and ME."

They are being impacted by this. And, their experiences over the last eight years of allowing their corporate masters to dictate their job description (removing investigative journalism from their resumes) have probably made them realize a free press is necessary for their OWN survival...and the survival of their family and friends. If they continue this charade of covering the truth, it will indeed be more of the same. But now the shit is trickling up/down -- the shit is trickling in all directions -- and it's getting on them and their loved ones.

I don't understand the positives and negatives of the bailout, so won't scream about today's events.

I believe we are indeed in deep shit, yet I have hope it can be turned around. Eventually. Granted, suffering is ahead for most of us, but I see it can be an opportunity to turn the entire ship around from the heartless, greedy course it's been on for over 25 years.

Even if the news professionals don't understand the intricacies of the bailout any more than the average citizen, they now seem to sense that this is no longer a game. Game over.

It's time for everyone to do their respective jobs, if one is fortunate enough to have one. The media needs to investigate and report the TRUTH; politicians need to govern in a way that is best for this country; citizens need to PAY ATTENTION and demand accountability.
