I think the reTHUGS tried to screw the Dems
Edited on Mon Sep-29-08 01:20 PM by gaiilonfong
Looks like the reTHUGS were trying to screw the Dems, the THUGS were supposed to get 100 votes, the THUGS are just basturds...yes this bill sucked, but why should the Dems take all the blame.

1. I do too. I think they thought the Dems would blink and switch enough of their votes to pass the
bailout anyway and Republicans could run against it (knowing it would be passed anyway). Nancy didn't blink.

4. Of course they did, and Pelosi was too stupid to figure it out
She should not have called a vote if she didn't know what the result was going to be to start with.

That is very poor leadership.

Why didn't Democrats refuse to call a vote unless Republians were on record promising to support the bill?

Obama doesn't need any trouble right now with the momentum in the election going his way.

Let's see if our non-leadership in the House can screw Obama and give the election to McCain.

5. The Republicans came face-to-face with reality today
and realized that it's time to stop being retarded about this mess.

7. That's my take
Hey gaiilonfong, did you mean to write in your OP the thugs were supposed to get 100 votes (which was my understanding of the deal that Nancy made with Boner)? Not too late to edit. :hi:

9. Bang On With That
I think the pukes were hoping against hope that the Democrats would panic and order some more votes to pass the legislation and it didn't work.

They were told that this was Bushes bill and Bushes party would have to support it.

I think the failure of the bill could come back to haunt us economically pretty badly and I blame the Republicans not only for putting us in the situation where something like this had to be done but not doing the hard work when it came time to fix it.
