Why are both McCain and Obama signalling support for the final bailout bill?

Two different motivations:

Obama - Knows he is going to win either way, and doesn't want to enter office having to manage a country entering a Depression. Believes Warren Buffet...which is a smart move. The bailout will stabilize the markets, making for a calmer electorate and a closer election. But Obama is putting the country ahead of his election. Getting elected, only to find himself President of a country in economic chaos, would be a phyrric victory.

McCain - Wants talk of the economy to GO AWAY. Realizes that if the bailout fails, the Dow will be at or around 9000 on election day - which means he's destroyed in a landslide. His ONLY chance of winning is to stabilize the markets and get people talking about ANYTHING but the economy. He knows he's likely to lose in either case, but this is his best bet. He needs the economy to be a lesser issue.

Something has to be done now; Obama knows it can be overhauled and then finely tuned in January--because we will still have a functioning economy.

If McCain gets in office, he'll once again love him some Reagan--and we'll face this entire mess again within a year.

4. Yeah.... and it is in their best interest for the people to revolt?

Sorry.... no.....

This "their both the same" meme doesn't work anymore. Go vote for Nader.

5. and their children, and the planet...

But no, I wouldn't expect that, not at this time, though it is warranted.

But only the willfully blind can deny the collusion of either party in this debacle. If ya don't get it now, you'll never get it.
