Just my feeling from watching C-Span. Too many Republicans opposing it.

10. Wake up, we'll crash anyway. When we do, the M$M will tell Americans to blame the democratic ...
Legislative AND Executive Branches. We are sliding toward complete FASCISM.

We're being played. :nuke:

14. Bailout passes = Japan 2002.... bailout fails = US 1930

Both were bad.

But I know which one I'd rather experience.

6. No, it will pass...
Dont assume because only the Republicans who are against it are speaking, that means all Republicans. Those who will vote for it are not likely to get up there and say so.

7. From your keyboard to our Higher Power's ears. I sure hope your're correct.
:hi: For wholly different reasons than the House republicans, I'm hoping that this "pig in a poke" FAILS.

13. No one knows exactly what will happen whether the rescue plan succeeds or fails
But from what I'm hearing, and I'm fairly close to the banking industry, the risk of much more dire circumstances is real and not unlikely. Six months ago or so, I held a different opinion, which I posted here on DU; I was wrong about how bad things actually were in the financial sector. I hope anyone who is against this plan has a plan B that is something other than "do nothing and hope for the best".

9. This is the best case scenario, IMO.
Republicans own the failure, and Obama will have more support to do whatever needs to be done when he finally gets in office.

Plus, the rest of the country will see just how drastic (or imaginary) this crisis really is.

19. Good...I am against Corporate CEO welfare.
Sorry, but they fucked themselves...and unless the CEOs are held responsible for what went on instead of the taxpayers, and not just some BS about their compensation not being tax deductible, these corporate assholes and looters will get the money and nothing will change.

Fuck 'em, IMO.

20. The GOP is going to flake on the vote, and put it all on Democrats.
Then they'll run out and start using the issue to garner votes.

Our leadership has been suckered again.
