Gibbs gets into a heated exchange with Fox and Friends hosts
Obama communications director Robert Gibbs dukes it out with the hosts of “Fox and Friends” in a heated exchange over the bracelet Obama highlighted during Friday’s debate, given to him by the mother of a fallen solider.

Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade suggested the soldier’s family had asked Obama not to wear the bracelet, which Gibbs denied.

Gibbs: “Let’s get the facts right before we start making stuff up on the news.”

Kilmeade: “Don’t say we’re making stuff up!… Unbelievable… Goodbye.”

Followed by an awkward toss to commercial.

1. I'm sure Gibbs sent the email. I hope FOX responds, though I doubt it.

3. Faux wants to go with the McCain supporting ex-husband instead of the actual person
that gave Obama the bracelet.

5. Good for Gibbs! Democrats have always acted afraid of Rupert
Murdock's product. Call a lie, a lie. You can only call for someone to cut his mike so often. Then the watchers begin to wonder.

6. I have passed by Faux for a few seconds
twice in the last week. The first time Hannity was talking about Rev. Wright the second time Huckabee was talking about Rev. Wright. I took Faux off my channel line up.

8. So Huckabee changed his tune on Wright?
When the Wright comments first came out Huckabee said that Wright's comments needed to be understood within the context of the time period that he grew up in. In effect, he was stating that Wright's comments were not that inflammatory when you looked at them within a certain light.

I guess now that he has his own show on FOX that he's changed his tune?

9. You know I never spent enough time there to say
where he stood on the issue. I saw him and a guest and then they played the Rev. Wright goddamn America clip that's when I moved on.

Soldier's mother 'ecstatic' about Obama's bracelet

By DINESH RAMDE – 15 hours ago

MILWAUKEE (AP) — The mother of a Wisconsin soldier who died in Iraq says she was "ecstatic" when Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama mentioned during Friday's debate the bracelet she gave him in honor of her son.

Tracy Jopek of Merrill told The Associated Press on Sunday she was honored that Obama remembered Sgt. Ryan David Jopek, who was killed in 2006 by a roadside bomb.

Jopek criticized Internet reports suggesting Obama, D-Ill., exploited her son for political purposes.

"I don't understand how people can take that and turn it into some garbage on the Internet," she said.

Jopek acknowledged e-mailing the Obama campaign in February asking that the presidential candidate not mention her son in speeches or debates. But she said Obama's mention on Friday was appropriate because he was responding after Sen. John McCain, the Republican nominee, said a soldier's mother gave him a bracelet...

11. I'm sorry but, wasn't the Mom ecstatic that he wore/mentioned the bracelet?
I thought I read that somewhere.

As an aside, I love Gibbs. He is great.
