No Opening Bell on Wall Street!

CNN is reporting that trading did not start until approximately 9:30, and there was no opening bell. Dow is down 146.86 and falling, following downturns in Asian and European markets.

9. Just a malfunction

I did stop what I was doing to watch. I've always heard people say, "If this, that, or the other happens they won't be able to open the market." I thought this may be it. Only minutes before the bell malfunctioned I heard Al Cashin talk about betting on the end of the world and joked (I think) about investing in a bomb shelter.
