2. So many scandals,
so little time.

Guess the last debate will be when the death blows to McCain's campaign will be leveled.

I feel for him.

3. Makes sense.
Doesn't McShitz have a reputation for being a gambler. Birds - feather - flock... oh well.

5. It was front page of Sunday NYTimes
If all these connections get out to the fundies, lots of them are as vehement against gambling as they are abortion.

12. I live in the Bible Belt
where we have a fundie in every pot, and they're always lined up to buy lottery tickets, so not sure it will bother them much.

8. Yeah, but there's a different angle
McCain opposed the gaming industry in Nevada for years, trying to eliminate legal wagering on college and amateur sports. Harry Reid literally had to hang out in the shadows of the senate late at night to make sure McCain wouldn't try to attach his bill to something unrelated and a must-pass.

McCain was despised by the gaming industry at that point. It's one of the reasons I'm desperate for McCain to lose. I don't want that college sports betting ban to resurface. It's been quiet since Democrats took control of the senate.

9. No more than when I find bugs under a rock
Find something dark and twisted enough, you'll find McCain there.

10. How about
Ralph Reed and Jack Abramoff? Aren't they mixed up in this mess, too?
I guess we know now why Trump endorsed him.
Another poster questioned why he didn't declare his earnings/losses on the income tax forms he released. Wonder if the IRS is up to speed on this?:banghead:

11. He supposedly has a gambling problem.

His staffers had to tell the people from the gambling industry to stay away from him. Ironically, he prefers craps. :eyes:

13. A crucial issue for me.

Traditionally, people with ties to corporate, state, and Indian gambling interests have not been friendly to those of us who like playing poker online or at no-rake pub games. Tell me again how much money Senator Frist received from Harrah's? What about Christine Gregoire (a "Democratic" governor from Washington) and the pressure she faced from the Reserves to felonize Internet gambling (One race I want to see the GOP win.)?
