If John McCain wins this election
I honestly think I am going to need medication.

After the last two elections, I don't know how I am going to cope. I still haven't gotten over 2000!

2. If McCain wins...
I'll be done with my involvement with politics most likely. It will prove to me that the people of this country are too far gone and that there would be little point in trying anymore.

not stand for that, not this time!

I haven't been the same since then. I've really lost faith in people.. I'm hoping for the best but nothing will surprise me from now on.

11. remember to laugh!!!
I've been depressed ever since 2000. Like, I have good times, but I never forget that something BIG is wrong. Now I just try to remember to laugh, the more pitiful and ridiculous the news looks the crazier my laugh gets. I know big serious stuff is going down, the whole world will be paying soon and I feel powerless.. I try to laugh it off

14. yeah
what's the point in paying so much attention to the election cycle when the power we think we have is stolen anyway? It would be better for my health if I just ignored it altogether. I can't though.

13. If McCain "wins"
(and I have to put it in quotes because I don't see how he can actually win fairly and honestly) it will really be the death knell for this country. It will stagger on for a few more decades, pretending that it's still a world power, but with so much money going to maintain idiocy like occupying Iraq, massive tax cuts will mean cutting all other programs to the bone, or eliminate them entirely. There will be a steady, downward spiral of jobs and income, and the ongoing Republican administration will blame everything but their policies.

For a while longer the country will coast on its reputation and accumulated knowledge base, and so on. But after a while foreign students will no longer want to come here to study, foreign investments will dwindle as Americans no longer can afford anything but fairly basic goods and services. Think Britain during the 1950's and 60's. That will be us within twenty years if McCain "wins" the election.

17. it's not so much
elections are rigged

that may account for only a small %

it's the electorate we're dealing with

conservatives have spent millions, for several decades

in think tanks, gotv, etc.......

they understand neurolinguistic programming, etc......the power of lies

look at 2004:

given the terrible prez, Kerry should have been vastly far ahead in the polls and won by a landslide

fact this did not occur shows what we're dealing with

18. I think I will consider moving to Canada
My late husband has relatives there so I would have at least a temporary place to stay. I would no longer want to live in this country where either people are too stupid to realize what is and has been taken from them, or there is no hope of ever having honest elections again.
