By this time next week it could be over
John McCain has put two very bad weeks together. His stiff, angry and mediocre debate performance can hardly be spun into a win even granting him points for just showing up. Next week could be strike three with Sarah Palin having to go live and unscripted against Joe Biden without a teleprompter or a clue. We should not get overconfident and we still have to reckon with voter fraud but Barack Obama’s momentum is not likely to be damped by McCain’s number two stepping into the ring for real. I don’t think her disastrous recent interviews are Sarah Palin playing rope-a-dope. I think she is an authentic dope. Next week could be more than a game changer. It could be the game. It would be quite a luxury to head into November with Blinky and No-Blinky not even in the running.

1. Voter Fraud
that is what I am worried about. I am in a very red area of Florida and all I see are Obama stickers. The GOP has to be seeing this too. They are already attempting to disenfranchise voters. The state itself is working overtime on it too.

6. Even though I'm feeling more optimistic you might be more careful making pronouncements
It is not over until Nov. 5th when Barack Obama is the president-elect.
Until then, we can let the hope build, but never underestimate the Repubs.
The same folks bringing us McCain/Palin stole the election in 2000.

7. Biden HAS to watch how he 'handles' Palin Thursday
I'm wary of the conclusion that Palin is too good to be true for us at this point.

The best McCain can do right now is play the sympathy card for her, and Biden cannot fed into that.
