Sell! Sell! McCain is tanking!

JOHN MCCAIN'S move to suspend his campaign and TV spots and to dodge tonight's debate is a panic attack, not cagey tactics. Place your "sell" order now. His poll numbers are tanking, fewer and fewer Americans believe Sarah Palin is qualified, and his campaign manager has been exposed as a well-paid lobbyist for bankrupt Freddie Mac.

From strong to Depression in 10 days. Ten days ago McCain said the economy was fundamentally strong. Now he's decided it's so fundamentally weak he's needed in Washington ASAP. Meanwhile, Sarah Palin told Katie Couric on CBS if a bailout doesn't pass, "We're going to find ourselves in another Great Depression." How's that for a little reassurance?

For whom the polls fell. What changed about the financial bailout that prompted this bizarre behavior? McCain's poll numbers. They've been dropping like last week's Dow. In the key state of Pennsylvania, Obama now leads by 9. In Wisconsin, it's +7, Colorado +4, Michigan +4, Minnesota +2, and Virginia +3. Even in Florida it's +2.

1. A great article. You can't help but wonder what the next stunt will be?

McCain is a horrible campaigner, but for good or for bad, they do know how to get the media's attention. I hear the campaign may be strategically planning a shotgun wedding for Bristol & Levi, and if that happens I certainly hope the electorate sees it for what it is. Just when the media's focus should have been on Rick Davis and his ties to Freddie Mac, they come up with this "campaign suspension" thing, and the media fell for it.

2. Keep watching because its not over yet.
So the Government passes the 700 billion thing, Dow shoots to 13,000 and McCain's polling climbs through the roof...just in time for November 4th. They call it the October surprise.

Meanwhile, you gotta love it!

6. Karma. He and all his neocon cronies are getting their karmuppance.
Finally, they're losing their grip - and in every conceivable way.

It's like watching the unraveling in a horror movie. Only this time, we're all players, not just witnesses.

7. Not so fast.
If history is the teacher, the Democratic Party will find some way to bail him out.
