Will Palin Make a Cameo on SNL?
Will Palin Make a Cameo on SNL?
September 27, 2008 3:44 PM

ABC News' Imtiyaz Delawala Reports: After a crash course in foreign relations this week in New York, Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin may be returning to New York tonight for a crash course in comedy.

Celebrity magazine, OK! Magazine, is reporting that Palin may make a surprise cameo appearance on "Saturday Night Live" tonight, alongside her separated-at-birth look-alike, Tina Fey, who spoofed Palin two weeks ago in the season premiere of the sketch comedy show.

OK! Magazine reported on its Web site on Wednesday that "sources close to the show" said Palin was considering making a surprise cameo on the program, and that Tina Fey would reprise her impersonation of the Republican vice presidential nominee. The magazine also said security for Gov. Palin conducted a walk-through of the Rockefeller Center studio on Wednesday in anticipation of the possible appearance.

3. Well, if she does, I hope some cast member has the good taste not to...
... show up.

I recall when Andrew Dice Clay (quite a disgusting pig, sans lipstick) guest hosted, and some female member of SNL boycotted that show.

What would the skit really prove? That Mr Micheals is willing to do anything for ratings? The joke would backfire on more than a few!

5. McNutty will never let that happen.
It would be admitting that she is a joke. They'll never let it happen.

11. That is EXACTLY why I'm hoping she will show up... she is a joke.
It would be a huge mistake for her... let's hope she does it.

7. How about making some appearances with the actual PRESS instead a comedy show?
How can you get away with denying the press nearly any access to your VP, but letting her go on SNL?

Way to insult the American people.

16. That's why this is totally going to backfire.
She can carve out time to go on a sketch comedy but not Meet the Press, where she would even be interviewed by McCain-loving Brokaw.
This is defnitely going to turn the press even further against her, guaranteed.

Also, don't underestimate Ms. Fey. The look of disgust last weekend at the Emmys when reporters kept asking her about Palin were palpable. I'm sure she'll get some good zingers in!

It's laughable.

12. Remember, SNL's job is to be funny, not get Obama elected.
They had Huckabee on last year making fun of himself for staying in the race too long. They've had Hillary on. Both were funny.

She can read a professional's scripted lines off a teleprompter. It's her only proven formula for success.
