Salter: McCain was 'respectful'

I'm struck by this Mark Salter line in a pool report that just came out, which seems to suggest McCain's camp is a little worried about how McCain's demeanor toward Obama came across.

"It was very tough debate but I don't think our candidate went over the line. He stayed on offense in a respectful way," he said.

If it were obvious, he wouldn't have to say it twice.

1. Part of being "respectful" is LOOKING at the person you're speaking to!

3. McNasty has no better understanding of the word "respectful" than he does of "honor."
Fuck off, McNasty. You are unworthy of the office you seek!

7. If they elimated "on the" and just left "offensive" they'd be closer to the mark

10. It's respectful to mutter "Horseshit!" under your breath, too.
He could at least have pulled a Colonel Potter and shouted "Horseapples!"

13. Rec'd~ This is what Obama's strategy
was in the debate I am concluding. Obama was knowledgeable, cordial, respectful, looked him right in the EYE, didn't let mccain's attacks bother him, and it only makes nasty mcheinous' actions more stunning!

14. wow thats a sure sign that they know he f**ed up
I think McCain is exceeding his temper expectations, among those who know him well

I just hope we get to see the real McCain before Nov. The voters have that right.

15. He was NOT respectful-----at all
I've been watching debates since Kennedy/Nixon and I've never seen one with this level of disrespect.
