1. Great pics - but it's kind of sad to see more and more gray in Obama's hair
this job certainly takes it's toll.

But otherwise these pics are so great. I hope we get North Carolina this time!

19. He still looks great (and healthy)

and it's not unusual for a 47 year old man to have gray hair.

22. Not sad at all
Edited on Sat Sep-27-08 03:48 PM by fujiyama
He'll have a lot weighing on him. Unlike Bush, it's evident Obama will actually care what's happening to everyday people. And he's gonna age further if he wins and the job will be stressful (especialy so because he has to clean up the mess Bush/Cheney left behind).

I have confidence he will do well. The possibility of him winning is very exciting!

24. I think my eye has a speck in it. WOW
I live exactly 1.7 minutes walking distance from the depot. It took me 25 to arrive there walking. It was writh the wait and I was pleased that even though I ended up on Elm and Feb One Place it moved really fast once the gates opened. Here are more thoughts.

Coming Full Circle: Greensboro North Carolina.

The line runs from street to street, winding and twisting from Davie and February One Place and north on Elm Street in downtown Greensboro. It is estimated that we were 15,000 in number at 8:00 am. The streets have been closed to traffic and many people park their cars many blocks away and walk to the event. Excitement is in the air. I consider what I want to write in my notes about this day.

As I stand in line, I look up in awe! We are standing across the street directly in front of the infamous Greensboro Woolworth Store (what is to become the Greensboro Civil Rights Museum). It has been 48 years since four men were refused service at this building merely because they were Black.

Today, however, an estimated 30 thousand people will pass this building as we assemble to campaign and support the first African American presidential candidate – Senator Barack Obama.

It is a monumental occasion!

One hour later, as we assemble in front of the platform waiting with anticipation, I look back at the emerging crowd. I see faces of every shade of color. Surely, every race of people is represented here and it gives me goose bumps.

I marvele at the crowd of 30,0000 expectant citizens as we join hands in prayer for a healthier nation. The appeal of this man and his ideas has given this nation new hope and a new direction. We cheer as Barrack Obama and Joe Biden assure us of their determination for reformation

I chose the title Coming Full Circle because, after years of republican policies, dwindling economics, and the displacement of the working class society in favor of the upper and middle class society, we are coming full circle back to the government working for its citizens!

To reform (1. To put into a new and improved form or condition; to restore to a former good state, or bring from bad to good; to change from worse to better; to amend; to correct; as, to reform a profligate man; to reform corrupt manners or morals.
2. To return to a good state; to amend or correct one's own character or habits; as, a person of settled habits of vice will seldom reform.
Messrs Obama and Biden present a platform, which addresses issues as it affects ALL American citizens.

In his Handbook “The Blueprint for Change” http://www.barackobama.com/pdf/ObamaBlueprintForChange.pdf he states:

“... I believe its critically important that those of us who want to lead this nation be open, candid and clear with the American people about how we will move forward.” “… He further gives us “…a good sense about where stand on the fundamental issues facing our country.”

But his the most impressive statement in his opening letter is “…they will not drown out the voices of the American people when I am president.”

And this is, without a doubt, a Change I DO Believe in!

Some photographers somewhere had to think that was a good idea, right?

Okay, well there's this at least. :)
