2. Held by a really old...
incompetent, senile old man who belongs in a nursing home, not the national stage running for POTUS.

6. That was the line he used when he did that bit on the campaign trail.
He said it before he realized he held a new sharpie in his hand. Force of habit when you are recycling stump speech bits.

12. bwaaaaa! Are you series?!?!?!
I wondered about that "old pen" comment because it looked like a new Sharpie to me. Plus, I thought "WTF? That's relevant why?"

15. I saw him use that in another speech.
Not sure why I saw it, I don't really watch his speeches but must have caught that as cutouts in another news show. Anyway, in the clip he said almost same thing word for word, except I think there was something after the pen being old stating it would be put to good use - he seemed to skip that part when he realized it wasn't his old pen. He then followed up with the line from Young Guns that he would make them famous.

7. I'm serious about this all.
It was such a wtf moment. I was watching at work with supporters of both candidates...and when he said it EVERYBODY looked at one another with these horrified looks on their faces...and then broke out in laughter. Even the few McCain supporters.

It's his windsurfing moment. His riding in a tank moment.

And that clip needs to go viral. It's just so odd...so nutty...so...so...old.

8. It's always preceded by the line about bears in Montana
It's the one thing about McCain that really stuck in my mind from last night. I'll bet a lot of people who saw the debate also remember that moment more than anything else he said.

10. That fat sharpie was clearly too big to write with on such a small paper
how many bled-through words do you think he wrote while Obama was talking?
Maybe he just likes to huff it.

11. I thought he was gonna go careening off completely on that one.
"I have a pen--this one's kind of old--not to say it's a foutain pen or a quill or anything, I mean it's a Sharpie, Sharpie's have only been around since what, 1960 or so...? Anyway, it's an old Sharpie...more of a marker than a pen really... 'Pen'...that's a funny word. Ever notice if you say the same word over and over it starts to sound ridiculous? 'Pen...pen...pen'...heh... I mean what kind of a word is that? 'Pen...' Hardly enough letters to even be a word. I mean 'marker' makes sense, it's a thing that marks, but 'pen...?' Wait, where am I?"
