Buchanan inadvertently exposes the mind of the fundie last night
when he said the "mean guy" won this debate.

The fundies - for all their talk about values and character -- want a jackass for president who pisses off or scares off the rest of the world. They value fear-mongers, as if it were integral to running the country, and indeed world. It's a not-so subtle jab at the wimpyness of liberals.

Notice how proud of himself McCain seemed when he repeated more than once that he "didn't win Miss Congeniality" in the senate.

The GOP knows that this fake machismo appeals to low-info voters who easily mix up integrity with stubborness.

FUCK the FUNDIES.

1. Theirs is an Angry God. Free thought discouraged. It is easier to follow.
To me, just some fundamental personality flaws of conservatives!

2. I think it's some grotesque version of Lakoff's conservative "Strict Father" frame.
Rationality is a sign of girlish wimpiness to these people.

6. This seems to be the prevailing tenor
of the post-Reagan repuke party. This mean, cold-blooded, ugly, angry persona has been introduced and perpetuated by the shock-jock lunatic fringe RW talk radio blowhards. And their listeners or followers have not only internalized the "meanness", but have spread it around amongst themselves. And the result is that they lose all manner of empathy or sympathy as they wallow in their dark hatred for anyone not like themselves. Thing is, this is tearing their party apart.

9. I agree. We'll take the moderate conservatives who have a brain.
And let's leave the pond scum to their own hate.

12. Some Pubs equate nasty one liners with the ability to protect us from terrorists. In reality, nasty
one liners and arrogance make us a target.
