A good 3 day (pre-debate) in the tracking poll average - Obama +5.5%
McCain grand standing and stunt strategy didn't work too well:

# 9/27: Gallup Pres-Tracker: Obama 49%, McCain 44%

# 9/27: Hotline/Diageo Pres-Tracker: Obama 48%, McCain 43%

# 9/27: Rasmussen Pres-Tracker: Obama 50%, McCain 44%

# 9/27: Res. 2000 Pres-Tracker: Obama 49%, McCain 43%

1. I think it expands more after the debates get taken into account.
All the evidence(polls and focus group tracker on cnn), contrary to what some talking heads say, indicate that Obama did better. And not only better, but I think he looked like a president.
