The saner ones actually admit that the campaign suspension backfired. Just wait until they see the reaction to the debate!

I want to change up the perspective here.

McCain is facing a huge task. This is the most toxic atmosphere since 1932, 1952 and 1968.

Thanks to a great summer and Sarah Palin. we are within striking distance.

This poor slob thinks that Mooseburger is going to save the day...

20. Actually, thanks to Sarah Palin, his numbers among everyone except
the rabid base are sinking like a stone.

It would be like Obama picking Michael Moore as a running mate--it would jack up the base, but independents would have backed away big time.

I know Obama responded with his own bracelet story after McCain regurgitated his for the umpteenth time, but what was wrong with it? I thought Obama made a good statement about that. What are the freepers latching onto about it?

John McCain is still trying to play nice! Nice guys finish last.
He should never have suspended his campaign. I thought he should have gone back to DC but he didn’t have to suspend the campaign to do that. Once again, the Republicans are showing why they are known as the stupid party.

It really boggles the mind that they can actually think , with the country falling down around us, that the 'bracelet ' remark would resonate with the American Public.

Actually, it's because Obama is such a kind and thoughful person that he could pull off the "I have a bracelet too" and you knew his bracelet was equally meaningful. McCain doesn't have the copyright on veterans stories.

The problem is, nobody apparently noticed the bracelet except for Freepers. It has not been mentioned by virtually anybody.

You are insane if you think that will hurt Obama.

35. McLame told his story
for the 10,000th time that he is wearing the bracelet of a dead Iraq vet and says that his mother told him to make sure her son didn't die in vain or something like that. So Obama shows his wrist and also has a bracelet...from a mother who gave it to him and said that he should make sure other mothers didn't have to suffer like that. It is hard to think what the freepers think of this though.

Look. If McCain wants to run an I am above politics campaign like Bush one he will lose just like Bush one. If he wants to define Obama properly as a person who associates with American hating people like Reverend Wright, wants to slash our defenses and won’t put his hand over his heart for the pledge of allegiance then he can win..He needs to be tricky in next debate such as asking a question such as ok if someone is making 45,000 what will be their tax rate under your proposal and what is it today..?? His team is weak

The funniest one is the one that says just look at the state polls and then names all of the states where McCain is sinking like VA
