Poll question: Re: Vice Presidential Debate October 2 When do you think her medical emergency will occur?
Edited on Sat Sep-27-08 12:07 PM by grantcart
If she cannot be sent out to give a rehearsed 3 minute spin on last night's debate you have to wonder.

Her confidence cratered when she saw Katie Couric ask her questions she had already been asked.

There are no 'laying on hands' to get you out of this debate.

So when do you think they will announce the initial medical conditions that will make this debate impossible to carry on?

Bonus points given for naming the ailment that she is afflicted with.

1. Oh, she will be there. She and McCain are too arrogant to recognize
the problem.

7. I think that the practice debates that they run are run under actual conditions

BTW Palin knows she has a problem - compare her answers between Gibson and Couric.

She knows that no one is buying the Russian question so she is still thinking of how to try and sell it.

10. She will only have one chance to make the sale.
It will be an embarrassing crash and burn, but she will give it her best hockey mom charm.

3. Very, very soon...
Not only because she's not ready (and never will be), but because McInsane needs to pull yet another trick out of his hat ~ he's got nothing else.

12. LOL
I just hope they are teaching her how to complete a sentence without ending with a preposition. English will have a medical emergency during the debate as well!

8. I don't know. Part of me thinks she'll score points just by showing up.
More so if she were squirreled away--that's how low expectations are for her.

The gist is: get the meme that she's going to try to ditch out there, so that she's either forced to debate or everybody in the world calls bullshit when she doesn't.

13. I didn't see it but that of course is the exact same rationale for the poll

Start the rumors now will actually make it more likely she has to show up.

15. She'll be there... but with the sympathy vote wrapped up... here's how...
I just posted this on another thread...

Possible Palin debate scenario:

Tuesday: family emergency or state "crisis" calls Palin back to AL

Wednesday: fate of the debate in doubt as MSM dumbfoundedly cries deja vu....

Thursday: emergency NOT resolved (in fact worse) but Palin gamely and heroically decides to debate anyway. Arrives just in time. MSP makes much of fact that crisis left her little time to prepare. Appears distracted and disjointed (if not outright incoherent) during most of debate. It is clear that her mind & priorities are elsewhere but she nonetheless perseveres, winning the tender hearts of Americans everywhere, proving yet again that Palin is just another mom, one of us, putting her family and responsibilities first and politics last....

SPIN: Win for Palin

I think it will be her baby that suddenly needs attention. They will come up with a dire diagnosis, like he needs surgery or something, but then after the election, it will turn out that he is fine after all. Everyone will be relieved that the baby is healthy (truly) and no one will question her decision. I mean what kind of mother wouldn't put her sick baby first?

Do you think they are secretly rehearsing Mitt to step in at the last moment? I could see that happening.

20. She will be notified early this week (mon or tues) that Bristol is having complications
Edited on Sat Sep-27-08 01:12 PM by Parker CA
with her pregnancy. She will have to return to AK to be with her family. Bristol may have a "miscarriage" before the debate. This is not a coincidence that Bristol and her story have been completely removed from the limelight of Pailure and from any of her appearances. They are trying to make the public forget about it so when they bring it back out, the impact will be surprise and any questions about the validity will be quickly dismissed as completely out of line and inappropriate. The campaign may try to set up a remote debate option for her to appear from so that she can attend to her family and at least offer the option that she not completely duck out. There will be some sort of delay that will aid her in getting assistance for her answers, and she will be hailed as making decisions for her country even while her family is experiencing an extremely difficult time.

If she does show up in person, expect answers that have nothing to do with the questions, but rather direct attacks on Obama based on talking points and on how long Biden has been in DC. It will be the most nonsensical debate ever. Biden will likely have a difficult time challenging her statements because they will be so bizarre.

Biden's biggest challenge will be to maintain a straight face the entire time and to not crack even a hint of a smile.

I am not discounting the chance that a new VP will be entered into the debate at the last moment as yet another hail mary from McLiar. Either Rudy, Lieberman, or Romney.
