Using A Hatchet Instead Of A Scalpel. Best Soundbite of the Night.
It so perfectly describes the difference in general between the two campaigns. The different philosophies.

It even conjures up the correct mental images. McCain looks like a butcher, Obama looks like a doctor. McCain talks like a butcher,
"cut spending, cut slash, cut, (except for military and veterans don't forget). Obama talks like a doctor.

The problem that Obama's opponent's are having is that he is operating on very different ground. Obama is operating on the level of philosophy.

I love it when he attacks the very philosophy which leads to the wrong positions taken by republicans. Then facts unfold which always prove him right.

He is always very clear to point out the philosophical differences so that people will be aware of the choice they are making.

Obama kicked butt last night, no question abaout it.

1. McCain has voted against veterans benefits
Obama failed to nail him with this fact last night. (Other than that, Obama did a fantastic job, IMO)

10. I caught that too...was hoping he'd bring up D score, but Rachel
suggested that maybe Obama wanted to steer away from a military discussion due to him not being a veteran... We all know McShame would have gladly went into false outrage about how being a POW made him better.

7. I thought that was McCain's biggest gaffe.
He just threw it out there off the cuff. The moderator kept pressing him so he finally said "I'll put a freeze on spending, how about that?"

And I thought, damn, that doesn't fix anything but it shits on the little people again. Sure, cut daycare programs so you can't go to work, etc. etc.

But he did make sure to say the military could have whatever they want, and oh, yeah, don't forget, the veterans. Obama will get him on the veterans in the next debate.

9. Because "defense" spending is sacrosanct....
It was made so during the Cold War days. So the Soviet Union spent itself into oblivion. The United States did too. It's just taking a little longer to collapse while it juggles the credit card payments.

6. A brilliant comment on McCain's frightening "plan" for a spending freeze
I can think of nothing worse for an already failing economy than pulling the plug on all government spending. I think a high school student would have a better chance of leading us out of economic crisis that this guy.

8. The scalpel line came across so effortlessly it was s joy to behold.
Every retort of Obama's seemed genuine and spur-of-the-moment, whereas everything McRacist said seemed rehearsed and emotionless. McRacist may have memorized his lines good, but Obama decimated him with quick-witted responses. And that's what I want in a president, one who is intelligent and can think on his feet instead of one who has to memorize and rehearse his remarks.
