Let us not forget that McCain disrespected Michelle last night after the debate
The whole not looking at Obama during the debate was annoying and childish on its own, but after the debate that asshat didn't even have the decency to walk back to the middle of the stage to greet Michelle.

The McCains stood there in their 'elitist' stance and didn't budge to meet the Obamas half way.

The man has no shame and made me want to slap the $5000 makeup off his swarmy face. :grr:

1. but, body language and energy, i felt cindy was very gracious, which i liked
i see her with mccain mostly and the poor woman looks so uncomfortable with her own hubby. they dont feel or loo connect, all about him, ect.... so i feel a certain oddity in the woman. a couple times i have seen her with others and like her much better. i thought it was lovely the way she greeted michelle. that is all

agree with the whole stupid mccain thing

4. I agree about the Cindy thing, and each time I've seen McCain and Cindy...
together, I get the sense that he loathes her. We know what he's called her in the past, and it seems he genuinely loathes her. I don't sense the warmth Barack and Michelle have at all.

30. It is not uncommon for abused women to turn to alcohol & drugs to cope
When a man emotionally abuses his woman in public, you can bet the abuse is ten-fold behind closed doors.

40. I think that you are right
Grampy's never accomplished anything on his own. He got in to Annapolis because of his father and grandfather, barely graduated, wrecked several planes and managed to get shot down and captured. Without dumping his first wife for Cindy and her money, he'd never have had a political career at all. Like Chimpy, he can claim nothing in life as his own accomplishment. He deeply resents the fact that without Cindy he would be nothing.

Which is yet another reason he so obviously detests Barack, who has earned everything he has ever had.

who was a very racist fundie Catholic - she passed on some years ago, but, I saw her discomfort around black people in McCain last night.

you can tell in body language again cindy and her daughter, love the adopted daughter. we get no sense of that from mccain and the only comment we have heard from mccain on adopted daughter was disgusting. i dont imagine the two (cindy, mccain) hang out much together. with all their homes, would be easy not to. doesnt feel like a unit

-”Oh, that was Cindy’s idea - I didn’t have anything to do with it. She just went and adopted this thing without even asking me. You can’t imagine how people stare when I wheel this ugly, black thing around in a shopping cart in Arizona . No, it wasn’t my idea at all.”

3. I would not allow that to bother me
You know as well as most other DUers that the Obama Family are twice the family that the McCains are - for moral integrity, role models and vision.

It that bothers you - it is a small petty thing. Do not allow McCain to measure the worth of Obama.

I'm not allowing McCain to measure the worth of Obama
I am bringing up the fact that McCain showed what a shithead he is not only by not looking at Obama - he was low enough to not show basic respect for his wife. That would be the same respect and decency the Obamas showed Cindy, as they should have. Like it or not, people see those little things and it shows someone's character more than anything than can ever 'say'.

The Obamas make me proud in how they represent themselves and the Democratic party.

19. I mistated -
What I meant was that the contrast between the two is stark. I respect the Obama's so much that I emulate their grace - and I disregard whatever the McCain's do.

Personally - I think McCain cannot stand Obama - because Obama reminds him that his era is over - and painfully over - not one filled with pride, but with harsh judgements of bad decisions that have spanned his career - especially tying him to Bush. That is a hard pill for an old man to swallow. I am not forgiving him - just trying to understand where he is coming from so I would find it less insulting.

7. IIRC, McNasty did the same thing to Cindy Lou. He stopped walking toward
her and let her come to him. He's an arrogant asshole of the highest order.

I don't want to slap the makeup off his ugly mug, I'd like to slap his left cheek so hard that the nest of baby spiders he has living there are set free to crawl about his head.

31. I'm calling BS too. When the debate ended, he walked AWAY from Obama
around the other side of the lecturn. Obama walked toward him to shake his hand.

The Obama's are classy and while Cindy showed grace in greeting them, manners are important but are not an indicator of character. I've known people with great manners, made you feel important for a minute or two, but were complete assholes behind your back. That's how I see Cindy but I'm not sure I have much evidence to back it up. She doesn't talk about herself much.

15. Everything is natural, without thought, with B and M.
They automatically join hands. She walks beside him, not behind him.
With J and C it is different. Rarely do they touch and when they do, it seems that they just thought about it and realize they are supposed to. She almost always walks a step behind him, sort of in deference to his perceived superiority.
Cindy always looks more relaxed when he is not around.

She greeted M warmly, while McCain looked repulsed at having to even shake hands. Funny thing. He is forever putting his hands on Sarah.

He'd had a jittery ride all the way down from DC, sharing a cabin with Rudy & all.

Once he's president, then he can finally relax and get the rest he so obviously needs.

21. It's one thing that Barack is taller, but I think Michelle is too
bad enough greeting a taller male, but take it from a tall girl, short guys are REALLY uncomfortable greeting me in a business/power situation (they're fine in "real life", but something about the whole "measuring up/sizing up" thing seems to make them uncomfortable, which I can actually understand).

Man up, McCain. You you're man enough to look UP at a woman.

or really very politcal. I know she said some not so nice things about Michelle but I think McTroll put her up to that. The fact that she is married to THAT thing....I feel sorry for her having to put up with him, he seems very cold to her. I still want Michelle to be our first lady though!

The most noticeable difference I found was how Barack and Michelle seemed truly a partnership, interacting with each other and holding hands, whereas Cindy seemed an accessory to McCain: he never looked at her, pointed where she should go, etc.

Not a surprise, really.
