The most common reason why you don't dare to look anybdy in their eye's:
INTIMIDATION!

What we saw yesterday when McCain didn't dare to look Obama in his eye's is quite clear a sign that McCain feels intimidated by Obama!

1. There are several...the one I most often think of is.....
when a person lies, most of them wont look the other person in the eye.

2. I thought McCain was suppose to be this strong military man.
No wonder he broke and spilled his guts to his captors in Nam. :dem:

3. McCain was totally humiliated by Obama, that's why he
couldn't look him in the eye. McCain tried to assert control of the election by avoiding the debate. Obama would not let him do it and forced him to come, making him go back on his word.

Yes indeed he was intimidated.

4. it's a consequence of making your opponent into a Straw Man
You stump on the trail every day talking about your opponent in such a way that you've got him diminished into some kind of joke, then the real guy shows up and blows you out of the water because he's not that man.

I think the same thing happened to Bush when he first debated Kerry. The real Kerry showed up, not the cardboard cut-out that the righties had made him into. It's something righties do--they believe their own spin far too easily.

I hope liberals don't fall into the same kind of trap. I hope we don't make McCain into a complete idiot (he's not--he's just an out-of-touch conservative still in the last century) or even Palin. She's an intellectual lightweight a la Dan Quayle but she has a personality that attracts some people. Biden will have to show the nation that it isn't enough to be a beauty queen to be vice-president.

5. I'm sure you're right, but I just don't get it
Obama seems like one of the kindest, most respectful people in politics. For all his power to intimidate, he does not use it to intimidate, but to connect.
