2. she will do far better in the debate format than in the interview format
there will be opportunities for her to espouse her views on abortion, energy, etc things she is familiar with.

there won't be any "gotcha" questions.

she's going to do better, i just hope its not that much better.

5. Joe's a gentleman
Of course he'll say that. Plus, he might even believe it. Maybe it won't hurt his conscience so much when he wipes up the floor with her to think she's a worthy opponent?

6. It will not be funny..
i think the VP debate will be so bad that they will have to stop it early....Palin will not know what to do with herself after 15 minutes...

7. good. because the press will lower the bar for her so low earthworms can crawl over it.
just like they did with Dubya in the Kerry debates.
as long as she doesn't defecate on herself onstage, the'll patronizingly pat her back like a good little beauty pageant contestant.

8. It will be a bloodbath.
And Biden will barely lift a finger. He won't have to risk looking "ungentlemanly," because Palin will self-implode with each moderator question. Palin is just about the most uninformed, out of touch national candidate in the history of this country.

10. first laugh of the day
Seriously though the big pitfall Biden has to avoid is appearing arrogant towards his mismatched opponent. He needs to remember that the voters in play at this point of the race are soft headed wishy washy people who don't do well with ideas, and don't pay attention to them so much as they do your tone, how you present yourself, whether you wrap your arguments up in warm and fuzzy themes suitable for a Disney movie or a fabric softener commercial. Be nice, Joe. Undecideds, particularly women, don't want to see you beating up a dazed Sarah Palin in a display of masterly stylized violence like out of a Tarantino or Peckinpah flick.

14. That's an old vaudeville ploy.
I think Frank Fay (ex-husband of Barbara Stanwyck) introduced a comedian he loathed by a big build-up, saying he was THE FUNNIEST comedian EVER, the audience wouldn't be able to catch its breath from laughing so much, etc. as he knew this man could never live up to this introduction, thus setting him up to disappoint the audience as soon as he took his first breath.

So Biden may be doing this by first appearing fair and gentlemanly by giving Sarah Palin the benefit of the doubt on record, knowing she will be a miserable failure.

15. I was wondering
how difficult it was for Biden to keep a straight face as he said that. I know I couldn't keep it in.
