This is what the VP debate will be about.

Everyone knows that Joe Biden has a deep command of the issues. There really isn't anything about Biden that will be revealed next Thursday. Americans know that he is an intelligent man with great depth who sometimes talks too much. No surprises there.

What Americans will see clearly is that Sarah Palin is unable to discuss national and international issues with any depth or actual knowledge. It would be as if someone handed me a cheat sheet on engineering and then asked me to explain how a bridge was built. I would be unable to discuss it in the "inside language" that someone who was in the business of designing bridges would be able to use. I simply would not know what I didn't know.

The debate will be an impossible situation for her. And it will frighten any thinking American.

As an aside, the last couple of weeks have made Palin's snide remarks about "a community organizer" at the convention look absurd. Did she really think that she is more qualified for executive office than a Harvard educated lawyer with a reputation of having a brilliant mind? The whole argument makes it difficult to take the McCain campaign seriously.

The meme on the debate last night between McCain and Obama is that Obama knew what he was talking about and the McCain was rude and looked like an angry old man with a chip on his shoulder. That is not what the McCain campaign needed to take away from the debate. Unless Obama suddenly turns into a dumbass, it is only downhill from here for McCain.
