and oppose the bailout if it's stripped of any help for strapped homeowners.

Pelosi says now that there will be NO help for homeowners in the bailout legislation. Obama needs to publically state that he cannot and will not support any package that helps Wall Street and ignores the pain of Main Street. Particularly now. Last night Obama stressed the importance of a bailout package that included help for homeowners. This is something he's repeatedly stressed. Signing onto a fatcat only bill would not only be a huge mistake politically, it would be an even bigger mistake morally. As Pelosi is framing this legislation, it looks like the ultimate trickle down bill.

Obama needs to pressure Pelosi to include help for homeowners. I don't care how he does it. And if he can't get that included, he should vote against it.

*edited to change title and include link. Evidently Obama is on board with legislation that provides NO aid to homeowners who need it. I've been a big Obama supporter but I find this really disturbing and just hugely disappointing. And I'm not going to pretend differently.

1. Too late- he already abandoned that position
not terribly surprising, really.

2. he abandoned it after saying last night in the debate that
it was a must? Not OK with me. In fact, I find that inexcusable.

3. When? He talked about help for homeowners being a necessary component
of the bail out bill during the debate.

5. I did.
Now I'll admit I'm sleepy. Stupid sleepy. But my understanding of the article is that House Democrats have agreed to take homeowner aid out of the package, that Obama had earlier stated he wanted it to remain in the package, and no update about Obama's current position.

I have a mortgage which could potentially go to 14% within the next few years. (I did not even receive the mortgage papers until 24 hours before closing, and when I called up the mortgage broker in shock after I read the terms he said, "Don't worry. You'll be able to refinance when the rates change.") If Obama has indeed caved on this, I'm going to share your disappointment.

6. He has a rally tomorrow.....
so we'll just have to see.

Let's let him wake up first, and get some confirmation.
I'm not into Associated Press to that extent. Their word is no longer gospel to me,
and hasn't been for quite some time.

Thank you for your patience.
