One thing is clear: McCain has zero respect for Obama
Just something our Dem leaders should think about (i.e. Bill Clinton) when they go on TV praising McCain.

3. Bill Clinton has no respect for Obama either. He and McCain probably can't
believe Obama had the nerve to even run for President.

4. Because Obama showed him up at the meeting at the White House by being knowledgeable and experienced
while McLame sat there like a lump of bitter coal.

5. Yes. At the very least, Bill needs to cap his McCain-praises until the day O'Loofa Boy praises Obama
Or even a kind word about Obama from Bush or Cheney for that matter. ...tick tick tick...

***CRICKETS*****

So Bill, about those McCain-praises... please cease and desist.

7. Bill should criticize his "friend" for this...
Bill was President. He knows what it takes to be the leader of the free world. McCain acted like an immature jackass tonight. If he acts like that on the world stage, hello nuclear holocaust. Remember how GWB's negotiations with Putin have gone? Putin has threatened to nuke Europe (or us) on multiple occasions based on GWB's disrespectful "diplomacy."

8. Wrong. It's fake, self-generated disrespect. Dangerous shit.
Edited on Sat Sep-27-08 12:58 AM by gulliver
McCain worked himself into an inner jaw clenching, hopping up on his toes, exasperated rage. But it was all self-generated, like a guy working himself red with inner lies to act a part.

The man put on a rage display. And it will definitely harmonize with some of the cracked rage in people. McCain brought out his worst side intentionally. He shows hatred for Obama to convey the impression that Obama deserves to be hated.

Obama just needs to keep making fun of the crazy clown.

Obama won the debate, but McCain stirred up some serious crazy.

9. Exactly. Obama has to bend over backwards just to get basic respect.
Regardless of his many strengths and accomplishments. Its racial. We always have to work twice as hard just to get noticed, and even then have to defend charges of "Affirmative Action" and "Not Ready".

14. "always have to work twice as hard just to get noticed" ... I call bulls**t ! ! !
Your statement of having to "work twice as hard just to get noticed" is demonstrably false. Just casually drive down the street or walk down the sidewalks of any white-heavy suburb and watch how quickly you're noticed, without putting in any extra effort at all.

;)

10. Of course he doesn't respect Obama..
In McPOW's opinion, he is not a veteran, is not sufficiently experienced and is uppity, not that he can say that out loud publicly. But we all know that is how he feels. Personally, I don't respect McPOW because he is an unprincipled sellout who will do anything to win this election. The fact that he'd take a chance Sarah Palin, putting her a heartbeat from he Oval Office when she is almost uniquely unqualified shows that Country First is perhaps the most rediculous campaign theme ever. Barack Obama has shown time and again he is thoughtful, intelligent and able to put his ideas across clearly, if not dumbed down for the people who would either not be paying attention, or would most likely vote McPOW anyway. Barack Obama might be exactly what this country needs right now, and if he can get the country out of the mess created by the republicans (with some help from the Clinton administration to be fair), he will some day be mentioned in the same conversations as Lincoln and FDR.

12. I have a different perspective
Maybe I'm naive, but I think what Bill Clinton has been saying isn't necessarily a negative for the cause. If he says that he likes all of them, but the dems and Obama know what how to get us out of the mess, that makes it sound less partisan. I would think that would be more likely to win over independants. Instead of discounting what he says because he's a democrat and of course he's going to gush about Obama, he plays it that he likes and respects both, but Obama will get us on track.

Like I said, maybe it's naive, but you just never know what's going on in that mind of his.

1. He is rich.

2. He was a POW.

3. He kissed Reagan's ass.

26. oh, & that's why Mccain flipped out when Obama dropped names. Mccain lost it.THOSE ARE MY FRIENDS
Think about it.

I think Obama's camp knew that would get under his skin and i bet we'll see the same tactic used in the next debates, pressing Mccain's buttons by challenging his sense of being among the important people.

Mccain's ego is monstrous and when Obama suggests that Mccain's old buddies support OBAMA's view... he cant handle it.

15. He should be learning it now,
I expect we will see a different performance from McCain in the next debate. He will look like he takes Obama seriously as his equal, at least he better try to fake taking Obama seriously, or else Obama will just walk away with this thing and make McCain look as out of touch and irrelevant to the process as Lyndon LaRouche.

18. I think it is the exact opposite.
I think he actually does respect him. A lot. The reason he can't look him in the eye is he knows he has been behind the sleaziest smear campaign that is directed at one of the truly good guys.

20. How the hell did this turn into a Clinton-bashing thread?
Some people (not OP) just can't give it up.

Having said that, I think OP is exactly right. McLame has no respect for Obama. For that matter, he has no respect for ANYBODY. He's just a bitter old fool, seeing his last hurrah slip away. He's a has-been.
