What impresses you most about Obama?
Tonight, I was most impressed with his ability to bring the discussion back around to how the budget and the war is affecting normal Americans' lives, especially towards the end.

In general, I am impressed with the way he consistently shows respect for the other person he's talking to, even when vehemently disagreeing. This is what he would bring to talks with other leaders, as well as politicians here, and I think people can see that.

Also, he knows when to pick his battles. When to fight and when to stay out of something. That is a crucial quality. It's more than simply being smart, which he is. And it's not a matter of either being willing to take risks or not; he has the judgment to know when to occasionally do so.

What impresses you?

1. He always stays cool in a pinch
He doesn't have knee-jerk reactions, and doesn't take cheap shots at his opponents, even when being attacked.

3. His mental agility impresses me most
He does circles round McCain, hardly breaking a sweat.

I love how he pauses to pull his thoughts a little closer and then begins. You can see his mind working in his pauses.

4. He looked at mcpane and was courteous, though it sure as hell
wasn't reciprocated. Made mcpang look old and mean.

7. Cool, clear-headed, focused ...

Ideology aside, that's what we need in a leader.

McCain had none of that.

9. He is a cool cat. His even temper is just amazing to me.
His big brain also impresses me, but it's his ability to stay cool under pressure and attack that just blows me away more than anything. This is a rare and precious quality, and very important for our next president, now more than ever.

13. Obama is flexible ,giving the impression that he willing to look
at aspects of a problem and then come to conclusions, certainly willing to listen. McCain is rigid and unyealding, has difficulty in understanding other's viewpoints, and rejects without condideration.
