Congratulate yourselves, DUers. Tonight was likely the toughest debate for the Democrats. Foreign policy = McCant's "expertise," yet Obama, according to most polls, won.

Onward to the veep debate:

Churchy Spice is probably alternately vomiting and crying at the prospect of going toe to toe with Joe.

8. I'm expecting a tragic "accident" to occur before the veep debate.
And the victim won't be Biden.

I don't understand how the McCain camp is going to get rid of her otherwise. He'll probably get a boost in the polls for sympathy.

28. That's what I think, too. She'll make a lot of gaffes, but she'll sell herself as 'plucky'
and afterwards, the media will give her the 'america's sweetheart' treatment.

meanwhile, anything Biden says will be savaged.

34. The real pressure is going to be on McCain in the second debate
I'm sure the McCain camp is expecting her to self-destruct. That's almost a given. Even if Palin had the facts on her fingertips (which she obviously doesn't have), she doesn't have the ability to deliver them in a coherent fashion as she can't seem to speak in clean and concise sentences when she's not scripted. That will mean that McCain will have to try to make a tremendous comeback in the debate with Obama on domestic issues. If there's going to be a McCain meltdown, it will be in that second debate.

If Palin doesn't go into convulsions and shout obscenities in tongues, the M$M and chorus of dittoheads could say "she held her own" and therefore "won the debate." Does that not ring a bell? Like in certain presidential debates a few years ago?

61. If she shows, I think Palin is screwed
As far as I know, there isn't one "theme" for the debate.

Gwen Ifill can ask anything. What if Ifill asks about Sudan? What if she asks about an historic Supreme Court decision and it's effect today? What if she asks about Jena 6? What if she asks about Amtrak subsidies?

The list is endless really.

I know I'm getting carried away here, but I think there is much more than a 50/50 chance that a question will be asked that she simply cannot respond to.

Remember, Katie let it be known after her interview that there were parts of the interview edited out simply because Palin did not have a response.
