Dear Dem Candidates, In Debates, STOP AGREEING WITH REPUBLICANS!!!!
Dammit!!! Gore did this same thing in 2000. Stop fucking doing that. I understand that you want to recognize and acknowledge a good point, but never, ever say "I agree with my opponent."

Instead say, "I agree with the idea or the position that.....". NEVER, EVER, EVER SAY I AGREE WITH MY OPPONENT!!!

YOU HAVE TO DUMB THINGS DOWN.

11. Calm down. Every major poll shows Obama won. The Independents loved Obama, hated McCain.
I think that Obama did a great job. He played this very strategically. He didn't fall into any traps.

3. yep, I will sign that petition
Most people are too stupid to see that Obama was being simply gracious and magnanimous and not actually agreeing with McTurd.

4. AMEN. Okay, please somebody explain to me why they would even use the word agree when....

6. you have to look at it another way
it plays into bipartisanship barack always talks about. McCain claims to be a maverick who works across the aisle etc., but he comes off as a prick when he condescends to Obama.

really. Look at the focus groups and polls coming out.

7. I think that it is ok for people on opposite sides to agree. For me, & I can only speak for myself,
the ability to find things in your opponent you agree with shows that you're not just there to be the opposition. It shows that you are thinking through each issue carefully. McCain was just there to be against Obama. Obama was there to show the American people he is ready to lead.

Of course, I am biased.

10. You Are A Thoughtful Voter
Millions of Americans are not. They hear, "I agree with John McCain...", and their pea sized brains interpret that as weakness.

9. Oh, balls. People aren't that stupid.
When you say: "....is absolutely right that....BUT..." they know that the first part is just a set-up for the slam at the end.

16. Yes!
I think people are much smarter and they are paying more attention to this election than probably since Ford-Carter. McCain not only sounded condescending, but he couldn't look Obama in the eye when he was crying "doesn't understand" or "Naive". Obama seemed gracious, able, even-tempered -- all he traits a good leader needs. Obama carefully agreed to specific points that McCain stated, but then added where they differed. And Obama demonstrated that he has the right mind and temperament to actually sit down and talk with foreign leaders we may not like. McCain can't understand this philosophy because he doesn't have the skills to pull it off.

13. What was he supposed to say?
"By the way, Senator McCain is dead wrong. Fuck veterans!"

Honestly. Obama won tonight. He's winning over undecideds and independents.

17. You Agree With The Point, Not The Opponent
You say, I agree with the point that we should help veterans. Never say you agree with the opponent.

Understand the mindset of the people that you're dealing with. They're like children.

19. All Next Week, All We're Going To Be Hearing Is
How Obama said that he agreed with McCain 6 or 7 times. Obama gave the McCain campaign a simple-minded talking point.

Gore did the same thing in a debate with Bush in 2000, and that hurt him deeply.

20. Agree with the Issue. The Argument, or the Position
Never the opponent. "I agree with the need to help our veterans..." Never the opponent.
