My wife and I just got back from a concert and are watching a replay on PBS. Just a few first thoughts as we watch this - McCain seems to be trying to channel Ronald Reagan (I hate Reagan, but McCain isn't even in his league of warmth!). My wife is concerned that Obama, being so bright, could be talking over the heads of the average American dumbo, and thinks McCain is trying to bring everything down to a Mr. Rogers level. A few other things - why is Lehrer allowing McCain to tromp all over Obama's words?

McCain is coming across as the grumpy old man who lives across the road who opens the door and yells at the little kids when their ball comes into their yard.

I've not seen it all, but I've seen enough to make me realize Obama is coming across as our next president, McCain is coming across as a madman who cannot be allowed near the White House.
