28. Consider who MSNBC had in their group
Pat Buchanan
Andrea Mitchell
Dick Gregory
Norah what's her name

The only one that might be considered liberal would be Eugene Robinson.

6. They have no real substance to back up their position...just
spouting off bullshit. Obama was even keeled...and able to look that fucker in the eye. McCain is a big liar. Informed voters know that Obama won the debate. I'm glad my future president is not a big liar.

8. Obama won as far as I'm concerned.
I don't know what the fuck anybody is thinking if they think it was some sort of tie or even to say that McCain won. Fuck! I really gotta quit going on these messageboards and watching the fucking stupid television idiots. I just watched this damn thing without any other commentary, just the debate, and I can't imagine for the life of me, how anybody could possible think that McCain won. It wasn't even close!

on others. Plus Obama managed to also define his differences and where McCain was slow to pick up. Obama is really balancing the ball. McCain was like an annoying chihuahua (sp?).

He was not even man enough to look Obama in the eye or for that matter he didn't look his way, he looked like a brow beaten little boy. Was McSame wearing a wire & getting his answer's piped in from Palin? He must not have watched her interview with Palin & Couric! You wouldn't happen to have an address from just 1 person in Arizona that has a yard sign on display for him would you? I ask this because I live in Arizona & have yet to see one.

13. Look, I have to say I wasn't too impressed by Obama's performance...
Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 10:16 PM by vaberella
That's not to say McCain was some star. McCain was crap, my main issue was the fact that Obama did not take enough swipes at McCain that were easy leads and open doors to really put him in his place. I do think Obama did masterfully just not the course I would have expected (hoped) from him which was a bit more aggressive in approach.

McCain was a slew of buffoonary, strayed off topic continously and Obama had to bring it back...I was just expecting a tad bit more.

I also think this was Obama feeling out McCain and not really on the top offensive that he could be. We know Obama could get really hard hitting with the truth...he just didn't use so much. Maybe he didn't want to humiliate McCain as much as he's managed to humiliate himself.

McCain is a nasty, snarly, condescending old man who rambles on about what he did in the past. Idiot.

Obama knows his shit and was presidential.

20. Hell, the pundits I've listened to give it to Obama
ABC's George Will said that Obama belonged on the stage and that is what he needed to do tonight, to prove that he belonged where he is. He likened it to Reagan's first debate and Will put Obama over McCain because of the presence Obama had tonight, that he belonged.

For Will to liken Obama's performance to Reagan - I mean that is "the politician" to Will.

32. This was no contest. Obama won hands down
Years from now, they are going to look at clips from this debate and note it as one of the death knells for conservatism. It was young vs. old. It was diversity vs. white guy. It was future vs. past; regulation vs. deregulation; diplomacy vs. "my way or the highway." The differences were stark.

In the end, both candidates implied in their own way that Bush was wrong. In McCain's case, that was the same as saying he himself was wrong because he voted with Bush all those years.

On all levels -- superficial (soundbite/verbal jabs/presence/demeanor) and substantive (economy, foreign affairs) -- Obama proved he is more thoughtful and more deliberate in his calculations/assessments than McCain.

McCain look bitter, condescending and petty. Obama was cool, irreverent and artful in his verbal jabs.
There was no contest tonight. Obama won by a landslide.

38. Because some Democrats
Are big old fucking wussies!

Look, McLame rambled and looked like a pissed off old crazy uncle.

None of us were going to be influenced by anything McCain said, nor will a great many Repukes care what Obama said. But for those straddling the line they witnessed a grumpy mean old fuck who was treated with respect by the younger guy. And Obama more than held his own with McCain, so every time the grumpy old fuck said Obama doesn't get it, Joe Sixpack saw a guy real off facts!

McCain can't overcome that and when the fact checking is complete it will substantiate Joe's initial opinion.

Opening round to Obama.

And one final thing, the momentum and excitement is behind Obama so the late deciders will be inclined to go with the winner.
