whimping and crying.

bleah...that's why an independent finds it hard among democrats.

my only surprise was that i thought it was opposite - McCain was surprisingly prepared for domestic economy issues...and Obama KICKED ASS on the foreign policy!!

3. He kicked ass ...

Obama festooned McCain with a major ass-whuppin.

I suggest not reading a lot of threads this evening. The trolls and whiners will be out in force for awhile.

4. Obama did a lot better on foreign policy
that I thought he would. He kicked McCains ass on Iraq, a little weaker on Russia just because he changed the topic, but overall I think a win for Obama on points.

9. Nope. I thought it was kick ass too! I loved it.
Obama was tough, but not nasty.

Too many people here are listening to the commentators. Most people aren't political junkies like many of us and don't listen to much commentary after a debate or political speech. Some do, most don't especially on Friday night.

The media does help to form the opinion though. I think we all knew where David Gregory was going to be though.

10. I didn't watch the debate, but came here to find out about it, and was
dismayed by a FEW of the threads

However, most seem to say Obama hit it out of the park

I thought he did great too. It was like the passing of the torch.
McCain kept reminding everyone he was old and from the past. Obama appeared forwarding looking and like the start of a new era.

12. McSlime kept trying to distance himself from bush on the economy...
If this had been a race, McShit would have broken world records by how fast he was running. That's basically his whole economic policy.

17. McCain debated like a turtle...
He hid under the shell of his talking points.

I think everyone's trying to digest why the talking heads are all saying that turtle-esque repetition is a winning debate strategy...

18. Agreed! I thought Obama did fine
I just don't think he was as aggressive as he could have been. He let McSame drone on far too much, when he should have stuck with it and tried to interrupt him.

I'm SO glad that you have an independent view, though. It's actually way more important than those of us who were judging him minute by minute. Most Americans watched the whole thing and probably agree with you that Obama kicked ass.

David

23. I thought he did very well
Despite all his theatrics this week, I had no doubt that McCain would be well-prepared for this debate, and he was. But Obama was commanding, was not crushed, and I was very pleased with his performance tonight. Sure, there were topics that still need to be covered, but jeez, we have two more debates!

I can't see how anyone might see different.
