I have to agree with you. Where the heck was Lehrer? McCain would interrupt, McCain would lie, would step on Obama's time... and nothing. At one point, McCain interrupts Obama, and all Mr. Moderator can do is say - gentleman, one at a time. Screw that!

I wanted Obama to be more forceful and more to the point. When McCain went on his sentimental bit about veterans knowing he'd take care of them, I wanted Obama to simply point out that he'd had that opportunity and didn't take it - instead he gave the rather long and circuitous story of his father... arghh! Frustrating.

McCain is an ass. And he's an idiot. But Obama has to realize he's got to fight him directly. You can't be a gentleman with someone who won't play by those rules.
