My prediction: O will hit McCoon with Keating 5 at the debate. They already tried
it in the media - no outrage, so I guess the subject is OK. Here's hoping.

1. McCoon?!
Whats up with that? Surely you have a different meaning than the one that automatically comes to mind.

6. um, just thinking out loud here ... but, uh, the word "coon".... seems i've
heard it in another context before. a disparaging one. help me out. wait, it's right on the tip of my tongue. seems like a group of people were called "coons" or something like that. crap. i can't remember exactly what it was. oh well.

7. I think there are better, less loaded words to use.
From the urban dictionary:
"The black eye masks and noctural habits of the animal paralleled the characteristics of typical robbers and thiefs. The stereotype was then applied to black people."

It makes me cringe.

8. That has got to be the dumbest pun yet.
And there has been a lot of competition.

2. I don't think they tried to hit him with K-5 (except for Rachel and the other
good guys), but merely mentioned it in passing.

I hope O brings it up and explains it to the people in ways they (and I) can easily understand. With all I've heard about it, all the references, I'd still like to have it spelled out for me and others.

4. He will wait until McCain brings up Wright.
Or Ayers. Or Farrakhan. Or Willie Horton. Or O.J. Simpson.

Or whoever the hell it is McCain brings up.

10. Hmm, don't really like the "McCoon" sobriquet. We don't want our posts colored with misunderstanding
We should be more niggardly with our nicknames against our opponents, you know, just in case someone gets spooked by the unintended double entendres.
