"Hollywood" *MAGIC*-McCain will get taller at the debate tonight
Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 07:28 AM by underpants
CNN this morning has shown footage of Obama and McCain's stand ins on stage in Oxford Mississippi.

As the McCain stand in (stage right) makes the turn around his podium he clearly rises up with EACH of the first two steps. There is a break in the backdrop on McCain's side of the stage and freezing it you can see a rise in the floor (the break is meant to alter the eye's line)

Just something to watch for tonight.

2. I guess the producer thought...
...a throne with heavenly light streaming from behind would be a bit too obvious. I wonder if Obama's mike will keep suffering "technical difficulties" too.

3. Is the "no electronic devices that may interfere with the earpiece" rule
still in effect for everyone in the hall?

I'm just dying to have McCain respond to the earpiece with "STFU, you C@#$"

4. It won't matter.
They can make McSame look taller. They can apply heavy make up. They can prop him up. Next to Obama, he will look like what he is: a pathetic, tired, old, bigoted, hateful man with no morals, no values, a short fuse, and a reactionist temperament.

Contrast that with Obama's youthful good looks, even temperament, intelligence, education, and high standards for himself and it won't be McSame's night.

12. I hope the country has moved that far
Take out the age references and the exact same thing could have been said in 2004.

Bush's demeanor, answers and behavior in the first debate and his eventual win will stun future generations if they view it

5. There was a pic of a Kerry/Bush debate where Bush's image
was shrunk down to make him look like a 9-year-old. Big tall Kerry, little short Bush. I hung on to that pic for a long time. I wish I still had it.

11. Most of the pictures were like what was described in the OP
They raised Bush up - but Kerry still looked taller and infinitely saner and smarter. Not to mention, the candidates have to shake hands. (Kerry's suit jacket was also smooth in the back with no lumps :) )

6. He could wear platform shoes but that would make him look like
Frankenstein's monster, considering the way he walks and gestures with his arms. :dem:

8. I really hope he shows. McCain's such a colossal wuss though.
It wouldn't surprise me a bit if he McChickened out. He's been Mcafraid of the media so much lately and Mcavoiding them so much that the idea of a real debate must be Mcterrifying for him.

10. Little Johnny McPanic is going to look funny shaking hands with Obama
before and after the debates. The stark contrast in their appearance, one being young, healthy, confident and the other being old, shaky, confused, will be obvious to anyone watching.

13. I can't help thinking of Jon Lovitz as Dukakis in the SNL skit...
... he steps up to the podium and presses a button. The podium slowly rises, then stops, then rises some more...

14. Is McCain going to be frisked?
I'm wondering if he's going to be wired, ala Bush in the Kerry debates.
