Question-Comment:
I'm wondering why no media outlets discussing Republican candidates mention their VP candidate's utterly bizarre and possibly dangerous religious beliefs. Her church is so off the wall that the Assemblies of God kicked them out in 1949.
The glossolalia doesn't bother me--nothing wrong with getting a little enthusiastic in church. Even the healing through cell phone calls isn't so bad, assuming that people on the other end are using evidence-based medicine also and just trying to cover every possible option.
What ought to be disturbing to any sane commentator is her statement "Yes, I think I will see Jesus come back to earth in my lifetime." Should McCain win, we are just one more possibly fatal melanoma episode away from putting the nuclear football in the hands of someone who is looking forward to the destruction of earth in a scene straight out of the Left Behind series.
Why isn't anyone writing about this?
