KDKA-TV/Survey USA Poll: Obama Leads McCain In Pa.
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― If the election were held today, Barack Obama would defeat John McCain in Pennsylvania, a state that both campaigns consider must-win on the road to the White House.

The latest KDKA-TV newspoll conducted by Survey USA on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week gives Obama a six-point lead over McCain, 50 percent to 44 percent with the rest undecided or opting for other candidates.

In southwestern Pennsylvania, Obama beats McCain by seven points, 51 percent to 44 percent.

McCain does well elsewhere in the state, but strong support for Obama in Philadelphia and its suburbs puts the Democrat on top.

I'm happy about my area of Southwestern PA that Obama is leading. We have a lot of older white conservative Dems in this area many of whom will have trouble voting for a black man.

3. The Kerry states are solidifying
Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 02:29 AM by fujiyama
The way it looks is that McCain's two big potential prizes (MI and PA) are looking less and less likely. NH is the only Kerry state looking kind of iffy...

McCain will get EVEN MORE desperate and continue to go nuts. He'd be smart (haha McCain smart!) to just defend OH, FL, CO, and VA at this point. And considering two of those four are trending Obama's way...McCain's paths to 270 are fewer and fewer. McCain has to win 3 out of four of those. Obama has to win just one (well to get to 270). This is of course assuming Obama takes NM and IA, which look very likely to go to Obama at this point.

Obama's race to lose.
