They are going to try to give McCain CREDIT for the final bill.
Just saw Hatch on Tweety. He put out the talking point that McCain was challenged to return to Congress (by whom? Seems they want to say this was Pelosi/Reid) and he has taken up the challenge.

There will be an agreement, with McCain in DC and Obama not there. They will try to spin this as a victory for McCain, even though he'll have zero influence. Rove's behind this. They don't care about Friday's debate. They sense more value in the ploy we see unfolding.

Stay tuned for the next step, Bush's speech tonight.

13. Pelosi will not. On NPR she said that the plan is going to pass
and that McCain decided to fly over to take credit for it.

I think that the Democrats will make sure he does not, not beyond a "bi-partisanship" including the two candidates and the White House.

6. I really think it was a hail mary pass and it did not work. Obama did not play along with this
little ploy. I think they saw the polls, they probably have some internal numbers we don't know about, his campaign manager or whatever position he is in is in trouble. Palin is a joke anymore among the press and probably the public by now where she still is unable to take questions. How is she going to do a debate without questions. They probably want that one delayed after Biden's performance today.

No, they are stuck with this now. What the hell is he going to do. He can't do photo-ops, that would look political. If the republicans are not careful, the country will turn on them big time if they see them playing politics here.

Everybody knows they have all the committees and the people they need to get this deal done, they don't need McCain and Obama there except for a vote possibly.

8. I was thinking the same thing. Right now, Pukes are against the bill.
So McCain swoops in to DC and rallies the troops to pass a bill and save the economy! They're gonna try it.

10. I heard that Reid was pissed on CNN
I don't think he will be embraced with open arms. Anyone with a half a brain knows what this is all about.

12. Of course they will TRY...
And of course it'll fail. Reid and Pelosi will be highlighting every Democrat in DC when they finally ink a deal.

McCoward will have stoked the fire of fear, and Democrats will have been the ones to put it out.
