McCain cancels Letterman appearance must return to DC - NOT
Except he didn't leave NY, during the taping of his show Letterman found out that McCain was still in town doing an interview with Katie Couric. McCain is hiding out from Letterman, what a wimp.

(It was announced on the Maddow radio show)

John McCain, in an nod to how serious he wants to be seen as taking the financial crisis, is canceling his appearance on David Letterman, aides said.

McCain, speaking from New York, said earlier this afternoon that he would attend former President Clinton's policy conference as planned tomorrow morning before returning to Washington to focus on quickly putting together a bailout package.

1. It's urgent that we give Bush $700 billion.
Bush has shown such genius in managing the economy for the past 8 years that we must put our trust in his great abilities as he packs his bags.

(sarcasm)

3. There's something about a live feed and "hey John can I give you a ride home"
I'll have to stay awake to watch it, especially since I have no clue how to use our DVD recorder.

Hopefully, it will get youtubed tomorrow.

4. "Letterman Mocks McCain Cancellation"
"EXCLUSIVE: LETTERMAN MOCKS MCCAIN CANCELLATION
Wed Sep 24 2008 17:41:58 ET

David Letterman tells audience that McCain called him today to tell him he had to rush back to DC to deal with the economy.

Then in the middle of the taping Dave got word that McCain was, in fact just down the street being interviewed by Katie Couric. Dave even cut over to the live video of the interview, and said, "Hey Senator, can I give you a ride home?"

Earlier in the show, Dave kept saying, "You don't suspend your campaign. This doesn't smell right. This isn't the way a tested hero behaves." And he joked: "I think someone's putting something in his metamucil."

"He can't run the campaign because the economy is cratering? Fine, put in your second string quarterback, Sara Palin. Where is she?"

"What are you going to do if you're elected and things get tough? Suspend being president? We've got a guy like that now!"

Developing...
