McCain Camp Talking Point: "This is the John McCain I know"

I've heard two McCain spokespersons parrot this same line. They then follow up with "He's willing to lose the election rather than blah blah blah."

Point: This is user-tested and focus-grouped to within an inch of its life.

Point #2: McCain campaign has diagnosed what they see as eroding internals as the complete success of the Obama strategy in the electorate. The notion that there are TWO John McCains - the integrity John McCain and the Liar John McCain - has won the day. They tried to get it back earlier this week by criticizing the press. That was a CRITICISM of the construction of LIAR John McCain. It didn't work. The next step, then, is to emphasize the Intergity John McCain, the ONE "WE USED TO KNOW." That's what's happening now.

This is pure politics from a desperate, unhinged McCain camp that sees the success of Obama's rhetorical strategy now really started to hurt them across the board.
