checkmate! obama just called mccain's bluff.
Edited on Wed Sep-24-08 04:14 PM by Barack08
this election, for all intents and purposes, is over if obama can simply hold serve over the next 40 days.

this makes mccain look desperate. it makes him look like ross perot in 1992. or jimmy carter in 198- when he refused to debate reagan become of the hostage situation.

mccain's camp just took a huge risk, they got free air time for a day, but this will backfire tremendously, especially if mccain doesn't show up on friday.

4. forty days is a lifetime.
And it's "all intents and purposes", not "all intents in purposes"

6. I was trying to think of how McCain could possibly respond to this.
But he's completely painted into a corner.

11. Okay....
Somehow I think that McCain is kicking Karl Rove's weasly ass right now. The plan looks like it has backfired in a truly mind-blowing way.

Ha ha ha ha ah... this is just so damn funny. Uh oh, looks like Obama just sent McCain crashing to the floor with uppercut to the jaw. McCain is getting back up and heading for the corner aka running away like the little bitch he is.

Looks like Obama has been holding strategy meetings with Ali lately. I say they are working out very well.

16. It probably wasn't Rove's idea.
Edited on Wed Sep-24-08 04:43 PM by anonymous171
Rove is all about slime. This sounds more like a poorly thought out, last minute decision by McCain himself.

9. Game, set, match
It is over. You guys have all the fun. Seriously. I live up here in Canada, and we are having general elections soon too - and I gotta tell ya - yours are far more exciting to watch.

Sad - really, for me to have to listen to Steven Harper drone on, Stephan Dion squeek away and Jack Layton do what he does. Honest, we are having one english debate which is the same night as your VP debates - and I am torn to which one to watch....for entertainment value. My decision has already been made for who I am going to vote for.

Anyways, back to McCain imploding......will you even have an election? I mean, what would happen if he just steps aside now, to save the inevitable landslide loss? Has that ever occured before? Would Palin step up and announce a running mate? How does that work anyways? Wow.

10. Carter debated reagan in 1980.
That's when the "There you go again," line was used by Reagan.

12. McCain is a craps player, and his campaign is crapping out 'cuz of bets like this one.
This is McCain's M.O. -- he makes big, risky choices when he's down, choices he thinks will shake up the game. That's what he did by choosing Palin, and that's what he's doing by 'suspending' his campaign now. Only problem is, America wants stable leadership, not bet-the-farm antics like this.

He may just have cost himself the election.

15. Best statements ever!!! Craps has nothing to do with skill, but luck. Chess is skill.
That's what I want running the country.
