This sounds like a total stunt. For one thing, McCain is not the President, nor is the the Treas Sec or the Fed Chairman. Nor is he even of the corporate heads that is involved. He's a doddering old fool who can't remember how many homes he owns. We don't need him to "work on" this problem. He said his piece, he made his speech and there's nothing stopping him from campaigning, debating and keeping on top of the financial situation.

This just all stinks to high heaven.

1. It's a pattern ... He swoops in at the last minute and claims credit
Like he did during the immigration debate -- there was some
Repug who actually called him on it, "You can't just come in
here and tell us what to do!" to which BombBomb responded
with something like "I know more about this shit than anybody
else in this room."

MEGALOMANIAC.

2. I believe he's working on saving his ass.
A full-time job that requires his complete focus. Also, trying to figure out what to do about the Palin soap opera (pregnant daughter, shotgun marriage to baby daddy, exposed affiar with husband's business partner, etc.).

4. Did you forget? McCain is a eekonomicks genius.
Only HE can solve the crisis that his filthy de-regulatory, pro-corporate, free market policies created. Just what we need: a born again populist who is stupid to boot.

5. John McCain is a confused old man
And on top of that, it's impossible for him to defend himself on the results of deregulation he supported for 28 years, let alone this joke of him now claiming to be running against the Chimp record that he voted for 95% of the time.

6. His war injuries prevent him from multi-tasking.
Come on, you know he's going to use that.

7. Gee I wonder why a man who was at the heart of the ...
Keating 5 Scandal and owns 7 homes and was a major proponent of deregulation doesn't want to debate in the middle of this scandal? He has to run because he can't win.
