When A Campaign Resorts to Race-Baiting, you know they've already lost.
The recent "catching spears" comment from the McCain campaign is a blatant attempt to steer the conversation and debate back to a non-issues campaign. With Obama clearly ruling this campaign when it's focused on the issues, the McCain campaign has been growing more desperate in their panic each day. The public polls don't look good for them, and you know the internal polls must be abysmal for them to jump to a race-baiting comment like this.

But Obama's team is too smart to fall for this kind of trick. McCain's campaign would love nothing more than for Obama to respond. They won't and so it sinks like a rock.

Meanwhile, Obama is meeting with economic experts and working with people in the government on what a realistic solution for the current crisis may be. Biden continues to campaign hard and explain how the Obama Presidency plans to solve our current, real and tough problems.

Meanwhile McCain puts out fires how top members of his team are involved in the current crisis and his V.P. is running from the press like it was the paparazzi, refusing to let the American people get a better look at her in order to make an informed decision.

Each day, the Obama team looks more and more Presidential.

Each day, the McCain campaign looks more and more Bush-like in it's desperate panicky behavior.

1. Interesting, isn't it, that the Mccain camp thinks the die-hard racist demographic is large enough
to rescue them?

McCain's hasn't realized that you can't play offense when you don't have possession and the bigger this Rick Davis story becomes now, the more defense he has to play.

There's racists in my family--but they'll vote for Obama before they'll vote for a republican (I KNOW they will, they've told me so). In fact, many have boots on the ground for Obama.

Nonetheless, it's going to get VERY ugly in the few weeks we have left. I'm steeling my resolve as much as possible.

3. No. They're banking on the "I don't want to hear anything more about racism" crowd.
That is a pretty big group in this country (hell, it's pretty big on DU too)

They're trying to get Obama to bite and come across as the "overly sensitive" black man, hoping it will turn people off to him.

The Obama campaign is far too disciplined to fall for that shit.

4. You're right on both counts. The Obama camp is way too sharp to take that bait. mt

2. Race baiting as in Willie Horton? This stuff can work and they know it.

5. McCain's is the worst run major party presidential campaign
in the history of the US. Really. Races before the Civil War are too different to really compare to modern races, but since then? Any debate on this?

I mean the McGovern campaign was broke and inexpirenced, but at least it was inspirational. Even Goldwater was more on message than these guys.

This is just dreadful. A dirty campaign with no dirt to throw. No plan. Undermining every lies they tell as fast as they can tell 'em. And when you're tired of it, more of the same. Not even any real ideology. Regulate this, de-regulate that, act as if our disasterous foreign policy is something to be defended to the death.

A joke if it wasn't so sick.

6. I don't know. I think people tend to forget about badly run races
But McCain's campaign is a pretty huge and miserable failure.

7. One of my recent favorite things to do is to go to youtube and see comments on political videos.

Yesterday I read a comment by a self-admitted racist who said he'd be voting for Obama because the country was more important than his prejudices. I found that pretty interesting.
