A neighbor stopped by today and commented on our Kerry/Edwards sign.

So far two of us on this street have our signs up. There are NO Bush signs on our street at all. A couple of years ago, our street turned bright red with Jeb! signs.

In 2000 our street was filled with signs for Bush/Cheney. Then came the "I support the war and the president" signs. These were given out by fundamentalist churches here.

Now two of us have K/E signs up, and there are no others on our whole street. No Bush/Cheney.

This neighbor complimented us for it, and said she was going to use the contact number we gave her to get one for herself.

We have done a lot for the party here, and we have done a lot for Kerry. We are still and always will be Dean/DFA supporters, but we have done our share.

That is why we reserve the right to question the war.

But there are changes going on. We are not there yet, but the atmosphere of hate is dissipating.

We left our Southern Baptist church because of their support for the war, and we were called unpatriotic. It is the hate of religious folks who feel superior to "liberals."

Actually, we do have 4 neighbors who once spouted that Bush was chosen by God to lead the war on evil. They have not been ugly in a while.

There is only so much misreporting that can be done, and people have realized that Bush's war is not working. There has even been a softening of support among Bush's most ardent supporters. It shows up in the polls that show that most people do not approve of his handling of the Iraq war.

That race has the potential to get real ugly, now that Mel can refocus his goons on Castor.

My homeowner's association doesn't allow political signs in advance of one month before the election. But the K/E and Castor signs are waiting in the garage!

12. Excellent. We have our "A veteran for Kerry" sign on our front lawn

and have had no comments, but there aren't any Bush signs up either. We're pretty laid back in this neighborhood, but it will be interesting to see if any more signs of any kind go up.
