What to do about Media coverage of RNC vs DNC
I have to admit to being incredibly impressed with the level of knowledge, passion and research exhibited by the DU posters....

There seems to be something right out there, sitting in front of us, that could be a MAJOR issue - sort of a version of "Outfoxed", for anyone willing to put the time into the research. During the DNC, just about all of the media outlets followed up major speeches with strong right wing commentary and rebuttal.....I don't have the stomach to watch any of it, but from what I've read from posts here, the media are not carrying through with the same treatment....RNC speeches, instead, are being uncritically gushed over, with supporting commentary by right wing whack jobs.

Don't we have a potential scandal (yes, another one....scandal overload with this misadministration) right there in front of our eyes - and all that needs to be done is factual, comparative documentation, then find a way to break it. Do we have illegal pressure tactics being put on by the RNC?

Anyway - the effort by Walt into Medalgate was so impressive....this should be much quicker and easier, and, perhaps, something that the public could actually understand with its limited attention span....

1. I agree - I've been pissed about this since I turned on MSNBC
following Rudy's speech - I'm disappointed Media Matters hasn't been all over this. Instead they're focusing on the time each cable net spent covering!

2. To be fair, I've had CNN on today for most of it
And I must say there have been a number of critical remarks about the Twins debute and I saw Hemmer asking Lynn Cheney and one daughter about Cheney's comments about the gay issue. He asked them to comment on the criticisms made about him after his statement. Of course, she wouldn't dignify the question with an answer. That's the way they all are when they don't want to answer something. Why can't we dems do that???

3. I thought CNN a bit better than MSNBC
But I've only catching MSNBC late night. I've been trying to avoid the RNC except for catching excerpts.

Tonight I'm avoiding it by volunteering at the local Kerry HQ.

4. Is the the fault of Cable News? Or the Kerry campaign?
Seriously...

I haven't watched any so far this week, but if the rebuttle from the Dems is weak at best, who's to blame?

So far, Ron Reagan is doing his part. Can't fault him, that's for sure.
