What's this about Kerry looking tired and/or sick?
I didn't watch today's speech, but I'm worried about the possibility that this campaign has already worn him down some. And I feel a bit guilty because I'm definitely one of those who has been down on him for making mistakes and not going for the jugular against Bush day-in and day-out.

7. Kerry had time to windsurf?
Shouldn't he have been campaigning instead? It's not like he's got a double digit lead to sit on.

3. A campaign schedule takes it's toll on EVERYONE!
I wouldn't worry about him being any more tired than any other national candidate. It's just part of the cost of running.

9. even worse once they get in office
Exactly, running for national office is tiring. Heck, just keeping up with the republican lies is tiring for those of us who are mostly just watching. Even more tiring is holding office - notice how tired many presidents have seemed, and the toll that holding office takes on their health, more grey hair, etc.

Well, Bush seems to be an exception to this, but he gets a lot of vacation time and has others make the hair-greying decisions for him. But for most folks, it's hard work.

8. Didn't you hear about the repug "push poll" implying that his cancer might
not be cured and too recent for him to be selected president?
It appeared on DU a few days ago.

66. Well, I think it could have been a better speech ... and it didn't
help that Kerry looked really tired. But I think he did fine in front of that conservative organization.
