4. No, that's Jebbo's daughter "Just Say" Noelle...
Although while he was governor of Texas, Chicken George got a bill passed that should have netted Jenna jail time for underage drinking. Although other people's kids go to jail in Texas for that now, she didn't. Go figure.

8. thanks guys
thanks guys, like to get my facts straight. Leaving the girls alone, haven't the children of the democratic leaders (Clinton,Gore,Kerry) managed to stay out of legal troubles?

5. Leave the Bush Girls alone, please
Edited on Wed Sep-01-04 02:22 PM by zulchzulu
After all, they didn't really "endorse" Daddy from my take of the "speech". They seemed like Mommy and the PNAC panel told them they better do it or else.

Even Grandpa Bush and that guy who looks like George Washington sitting next to him were doing the puritanical thumbs down to Jenna's forgettable comment about...I forget.

They probably can't wait until Daddy loses so they can party their asses off without a bunch of Secret Service following them around.

6. I'll leave them alone...
...the second they exit *'s campaign.

I agree they were off-limits when they were just private college students, but now they choose to be in the public eye.

Their speech last night was like a train wreck. A drunken train wreck. A drunken, ditsy train wreck.

7. Randi's interviewing a republican from IA right now
Chuck Grassley....apparently a proponent of whistleblowers...and the problems he's encountered with "Brother Ashcroft"'s Justice Department...

9. Grassley's dissembling
He's all in high dudgeon because the Democrats allegedly failed to help him when he was so doggedly ferreting out the weasels in the Defense Department during the Clinton administration. Randi asked him for an example, and he started talking about 1985.

Uh Chuck? 1985 was during the Hollywood Twit's administration. Could you come up with just ONE example of how the Democrats stone-walled you during the Clinton administration? And could you further explain why you required the Democrats' cooperation to expose and reduce government waste when your party held the majority in both houses of Congress? You had subpoena authority and could have issued contempt citations to anyone who didn't cooperate.

What a dimbulb.

13. Randi said he stormed off the set and threw his headphones down
after the interview....she said she can't understand why he got upset...

Um, maybe because Randi called him on the fact that he was trying to say it was WRONG, that when Dems were in power he was encountering opposition to help whistleblowers....but wouldn't admit the same thing with Reps in power...

Olympia Snowe on with Randi now.

Pulled off his headphones and walked off when Randi didn't play the game his way.

12. Randi's talking to Olympia Snowe now
"Do you feel like your Republican party is moving so far away from moderation that it's impossible to stay with it?"

Snowe advocating for a consensus-based platform, now saying that the Repubs are just not getting their whole message out.

14. Bringing up the party platform again
Will Olympia endorse the platform?

No, sounds like she's saying the same thing Shays said Monday. The platform doesn't mean anything in terms of being applicable to every race in the nation.

Snowe claiming that the party has gotten so much better since 1996.

15. Olympia Snowe=Pro-choice
Sounds like she (Olympia) wasn't too happy about Alan Keyes' comment about Cheney's daughter either.

She didn't SAY anything, just sort of 'poo-poo'ed Randi's comment about it. Randi said she wouldn't sandbag her with it.

16. Asking Snowe about Giuliani's gay-friendly positions
And no, it's not what you think! Shame on you!

She's calling Snowe on the moderate mask the Republicans have donned for the convention. Recounting the Republican extremism in going to war, scaring the populace, etc.

Snowe says, "Well, don't you think government should do something?"

That, of course, is not what Randi just said. She didn't say government shouldn't do anything, but that what the Republicans are doing is wrong. Snowe won't concede a centimeter.

17. How I Love Randi. Best combo of politics and pop culture references.
She does the very best job of mixing hardcore politics and absolute fluff - movies, diet, bedsheets.

18. Snowe sounds like a nice person
But she's dead wrong that Stupidhead did something on September 11. Now Olympia's going on about the September 11 commission report. Randi should remind her that the report that was issued is solely about what they found in terms of the intelligence failures. The commission has NOT reported yet on what the administration did or didn't do. That report isn't due out until {ding!} next year.

20. Excellent question
"How do you exercise oversight when the intelligence budget is classified?"

Snowe apparently would like Congress to exercise more discretion and authority, but didn't have a concrete suggestion for how that might happen.

Ah, interview over. Good bye, Olympia. When you turn on your brain and conscience, feel free to jump the aisle.

21. "Some Republicans are very, very, very, very touchy
That their party is doing bad things." Detailing Grassley's stomping off during the station break. Randi says that Grassley seemed miffed that someone from the Democratic side would compliment him on his work with whistleblower.

Poor Randi, so misunderstood. It's tough being a black woman in the mass media. Randi's not really black, you know.

Hee, hee.
