A nice young couple came in yesterday to get their two kitties
their annual checkup and vaccinations. They are from Kenya, so I had to ask them what they thought of Obama. Of cource their faces lit up and they flashed me a couple of thousand-watt smiles and said their ENTIRE COUNTRY is extremely excited and proud of him and really wants him to win.

I just gave them a thumbs up.

It made me really proud and happy - the idea that people of another country would be so enthusiastic for one of our presidential candidates. I really really want us to be LIKED again in the world, instead of despised.

Oh, and the husband told me how Kenyans were totally into the text-messaging fad YEARS before Americans caught on. I had to laugh. We always think of ourselves as #1 and so superior and always on the cutting edge of trends, and here KENYA had us beat on that. LOL (I'm a50-something old fart and have no clue how to send a text message)

1. The 3rd world was also ahead in cellular phones - a pattern dictated by lack of...
infrastructre.

Bill Clinton is also widely admired in Africa. I had a fellow from Africa who is working with AIDS projects with the World Bank tell me how much they loved Bill Clinton and that was why a lot of them were rooting for HillaryClinton in the primaries.

It's a no-lose primary season for Africa. ANOTHER example of the wealth of riches all our candidates gave us.

5. They are also ahead of us in alternate energy. They can just go directly to solar
off-grid for outlying communities instead of string power lines everywhere.

2. that's so nice to hear ....
When Obama becomes president, this will do a lot to inspire democracy and social justice in many African countries. Why? Because Obama and Biden will lead by example. They will prove that diverse peoples can be united. Africa is bursting with promise, so many of their diverse societies need to come to peace with each other and they can accomplish wonderful things.

4. Best kept secret in American pseudo-journalism...
is that an overwhelming MAJORITY in every nation on EARTH is praying, hoping, waiting for US to elect Obama-Biden. Not hype, not propaganda, just the TRUTH. This is THE decisive threshold moment in 21st Century global politics, and I hope the racist, corporatist vote-stealers go down into utter ruin this time around, or I fear our last best chance is lost.

6. Yes - I read that in a poll of 22 countries (sorry, don't know which ones), they ALL were
for Obama.
